Answers to parents’ and caregivers’ frequently asked questions about camp

  • We welcome campers from rising 1st grade through 12th grade. Programs are tailored by age group to ensure a fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate experience for every camper.

  • Summer camp sessions run from early June through late July. Visit our Summer Camp page for the full summer schedule and pricing info.

  • Yes! We believe every child deserves a camp experience, regardless of financial circumstances. Camperships (scholarships) are available for qualifying families. Visit our Camperships Page to learn more and apply.

  • You’ll receive a full packing list once you register, but essentials include:

    • Clothing for warm weather and outdoor activities

    • Closed-toe shoes and sandals

    • Bedding (sleeping bag or sheets/blanket + pillow)

    • Toiletries and towels

    • Reusable water bottle and flashlight

Do not send electronics or valuables — camp is a chance to unplug and connect with nature and each other!

  • We have trained staff and a designated health care provider on site. All medications are stored securely and administered according to physician and parent instructions. You’ll provide medical details and authorizations during the registration process.

  • We are happy to accommodate most dietary needs, including nut-free meals, vegetarian options, and common food allergies. Be sure to include allergy info in your registration so our kitchen team can prepare accordingly.

  • We are a tech-free camp — no phones, tablets, or smartwatches allowed. This helps campers fully engage in nature, activities, and friendships. If you need to reach your child during camp, you can contact the camp office directly.

Studies have shown that just a few days without screens can significantly improve a young person’s ability to recognize nonverbal emotional cues, helping them become more attuned to the feelings and needs of others. Time at camp is an opportunity to develop social-emotional skills that are harder to nurture in a digital world.

  • Yes! Campers are grouped by age or grade level for housing, activities, and supervision. This ensures they’re building friendships with peers and engaging in age-appropriate fun.

  • Homesickness is normal — especially for first-time campers. Our counselors are trained to gently support kids through those moments and help them adjust. Most campers settle in within a day or two and end up loving the experience!

  • Detailed instructions will be sent before camp begins, including assigned time windows, signage, and what to expect. Safety and a smooth check-in process are top priorities!

  • We do our best to share photos daily from each session via Flickr. While we can’t guarantee daily updates for every camper, you’ll get a peek into the fun!

Campers are encouraged to write letters home during their stay. Parents are likewise encouraged to mail their children letters (ahead of their arrival) to be received at camp.

  • We don’t offer in-session visits, and campers are encouraged to experience independence during their stay. In case of emergencies, the camp office can always be contacted, and we’ll get in touch with you if needed.
